Some Connections between Quantum Tunneling and Inflation
The Wheeler-DeWitt equation in the minisuperspace approximation is studied in four different models. Under certain circumstances each model leads to a tunneling potential and under the same circumstances the classical version of each model leads to inflation.

where x(t) 2 IR n , u(t) 2 IR m , f is a di erentiable function from IR n+m into IR n not necessarily a ne in u as in (1), and 0 is an equilibrium point for the system, f(0; 0) = 0, it was noted in [16] and [17] that a weaker notion of coprimeness, which we called \weak coprimeness", seems to be needed, analogous to the various notions of coprimeness used e.g. in [14], [20], [21]. (Weak coprime...
متن کاملQUANTUM TUNNELING IN MEDIUMS WITH LINEAR AND NONLINEAR DISSIPATION
We have applied the method of integration of the Heisenberg equation of motion proposed by Bender and Dunne, and M. Kamella and M. Razavy to the potential V(q) = v q - µ q with linear and nonlinear dissipation. We concentrate our calculations on the evolution of basis set of Weyl Ordered Operators and calculate the mean position , velocity , the commutation relation [q, p], and the energ...
متن کاملA few connections between Quantum Computation and Quantum Non-Locality
Quantum mechanics enables some computational problems to be solved by quantum algorithms faster than any known classical algorithm. Is there a link between this and the other features of quantum mechanics that set it apart from classical theories? A dramatic example of such a feature is quantum non-locality. This report begins by reviewing the stabilizer formalism, an efficient way of doing som...
متن کاملStrong connections between quantum encodings, nonlocality, and quantum cryptography
Encoding information in quantum systems can offer surprising advantages but at the same time there are limitations that arise from the fact that measuring an observable may disturb the state of the quantum system. In our work, we provide an in-depth analysis of a simple question: What happens when we perform two measurements sequentially on the same quantum system? This question touches upon so...
